We have changed the format of this newsletter and would appreciate your feedback on the new format. Instead of writing blogs on issues of social justice, we are going to list links of news articles that we think you might find of interest. We believe this will provide you with interesting information and more in depth discussion. We would appreciate any comments or suggestions you may have.
Global Warming: we read a lot of interesting articles on global warming this month. We recommend the following:
CNN.com posted an article about a 50-year study conducted by the U.S. Geological Survey, which found the world’s glaciers metling at a rapid, alarming rate, faster than any anyone predicted, and shows that climate change and the warming of the earth is accelerating. For the full article, entitled Glaciers a canary in the coal mine of global warming, go to http://www.cnn.com/2009/TECH/science/08/07/global.warming/
On August 8, the New York Times included an article entitled Climate Change Seen as Threat to U.S. Security. The article concludes that global warming will pose many strategic challenges to the US and raises the possibility of military intervention, violent storms, drought, mass migration and pandemics, according to military and intelligence analysts of the Pentagon and intelligence agencies. In an article entitled The Earth Is Warming? Adjust the Thermostat, the New York Times wrote that some scientists are researching ways to reduce the planet’s thermostat, in part because they believe that political leaders will not seriously reduce carbon emissions anytime soon. TimesOnline included an article “Synthetic trees and alge can counter climate change, says engineers.” The Institution of Mechancial Engineers believe that mechancial trees, which reportedly are a thousands times more effective at removing carbon from the atmosphere than real trees, will be a familiar sight within two decades. I tested both a guy and a girl shirt, and something nice about the men’s t-shirt fit on a girl (me) is that the shirt was not all boxy. It looks great on a guy – i.e. hangs nicely and not too long, but fits well on a girl too…
Seriously smooth and soft materials – which is crazy since they made these shirts from bottles. I wear mine all the time and my guy friend loves his too. There was no shrinking when I washed them either (I always wash on cold and hang dry though.)
When we sent out our announcement about our introduction of our All Love Is Equal tees, some of our customers experienced a glitch with our shopping cart. The shirts were there but the cart said none were available. This glitch has been fixed and we apologize for any inconvenience. We recently switched to a new shopping cart to provide you with better service, and, despite this incident, we think it will be much easier to use. Thanks so much to our customers who alerted us to the problem.
We welcome your comments and suggestions for articles and features to include in our newsletter. Please send them to us at info@revengeis.com and visit our store.
