Happy 4th of July

Independence Day Issue

This is a special edition of the Revenge Is… newsletter issued for Independence Day.

In honor of July 4th, we are slashing prices on our super soft and silky original slogan tees, which will be marked down from $28 to an incredible $15.  We want you going into summer stylishly AND consciously, so we’ve lowered the rates on these classic tees – Revenge Is… Energy Independence, …Taking Back Our Country & …Main Street at Work.   Thank you for stopping by the sale.

For some of you who may need a bit of a refresher course, or who haven’t been too keen on celebrating Independence Day during the last long 8 years of the Bush Administration, America is ready to party this year under new, ground-breaking leadership, and get serious about America’s energy independence. The history of the holiday is traced back to July 4, 1776, the day that members of the Second Continental Congress, convening in Philadelphia, adopted the final draft of the Declaration of Independence. For many of us, it finally seems like America can celebrate July 4th as Independence Day once again.

At Revenge Is…, we want you to celebrate true freedom this Independence Day and we want you to do it in style…eco-style, that is.  So, following are a few easy tips we thought you might find useful in greening your July 4th shindigs:

Stay Hydrated – If you’re throwing a party, invest in a large reusable dispenser that will eliminate the waste of individual water bottles; if you’re going to parties, be sure to carry your own reusable drinking container

Toss It on the Grill – You might be surprised to learn that propane burns cleaner than the seemingly more natural fuels like wood & charcoal

Party Paper – Opt for your regular table wear as opposed to the waste that paper plates create; if you are committed to disposable plates, cups & utensils, look no further the compost-able options made from corn

Go Local – Fill your party buffet table with organic and local ingredients; you’ll feel good not just for supporting these local farmers, but also because you are putting good food into your body, rather than the mystery meats that usually line BBQ tables on July 4th

Sun, Sand, Surf & Bugs, Oh My – go all-natural with your insect repellent and non-toxic with your sunscreen

If you’re looking for some fun things for the whole family this holiday weekend and are in the LA area, look no further than Greenpeace at the Santa Monica 4th of July parade. – http://www.gotogreenla.com

If you’re looking to avoid the beach & BBQ crowds, the FREE Metro Art Tour looks like a good option.

If you’re interested in learning more about greening your home, The Green Beacon will be conducting tours in the Echo Park/Elysian Heights area of the city. – http://yourdailythread.com/events/

There are tons more things happening throughout this July 4th weekend here in Los Angeles and around the country.  We encourage you to celebrate responsibly, and celebrate consciously and enjoy your new found Independence.

Revenge Is…RPET T-shirts

Living well may be Ivana Trump’s revenge, but ours is living green. That’s why we love these super soft tees from Revenge Is, made using recycled plastic bottles. Yep, Revenge Is has spun plastic into fiber, blended it with organic cotton and created a line of wonderful t-shirts that let you express your inner activist. We’re particularly fond of the newest, more elaborate design, “Revenge is Saving the Earth.” $32 at www.revengeis.com.

Coming Attractions

In the next few weeks we will be introducing several new tees – All Love Is Equal and Peace- that we know you will love.  We are also in the process of installing a new shopping cart to provide better service to our customers and a photo gallery to post photos of you and our other Revenge Is friends wearing their favorite tees. We hope you will check in frequently.

We welcome your comments and suggestions for articles and features to include in our  newsletter.  Please send them to us at info@revengeis.com and  visit our store.
